Larry is a life long resident of eastern North Carolina. He was born in Carteret County and has lived in Greenville since 1994. Larry received a bachelor’s degree in music education from East Carolina University and a master’s degree in orchestral studies also from ECU. He is currently an instructor of music at Pitt Community College. He lives in the College Court/Coghill Neighborhood with his wife Cindy. Serving his community has always been a top priority for Larry. He has served on the City of Greenville’s Community Appearance Commission since 2002 and was elected Chairman in September 2004 to serve a one year term. As a member of the commission he has helped coordinate the city-wide Spring Clean Up, revise and expand the popular Community Appearance Awards, worked to enact an anti clear-cutting ordinance, and worked to improve the maintenance of landscaping on commercial and public property. Because the quality of life in our neighborhoods is very important to Larry, he actively participates in his neighborhood association. He was recently elected neighborhood watch coordinator for the College Court/Coghill Neighborhood. He looks forward to working closely with his neighbors and the police department to help keep our homes safe. Other community organizations Larry has worked with include: Habitat for Humanity, the League of Women Voters of Pitt County, the Pamlico-Tar River Foundation, and Uptown Greenville. |
